David Walton to join Rothbury Executive Leadership team.

Effective immediately, Rothbury Insurance Brokers (Rothbury) has promoted highly experienced leader David Walton to the newly created role of Executive General Manager - Agencies and Chief Counsel.

David brings significant expertise to Rothbury’s Executive Leadership Team. Rothbury Managing Director Roger Abel says the appointment will further strengthen the business and continue to drive growth across the NZ underwriting agencies.

David’s early career was spent in legal roles across private practise and in-house teams in New Zealand and abroad. Having joined the insurance industry in 2004, David initially enjoyed legal and commercial roles within local insurance providers including Lumney and Vero Insurance.

David joined Rothbury in 2014 in a legal role which expanded to include leadership of Rothbury’s Motor Underwriting Agencies. Subsequently, David’s increasing responsibilities were reflected in his transition to a General Manager role to effectively lead Rothbury’s Underwriting Agencies whilst continuing his legal influence as Senior Legal Counsel.

The elevation of David’s role to the Executive level sees him take on the added responsibilities for the General Manager of Rothbury Employee Benefits and General Manager of Risk & Compliance whilst continuing to lead Rothbury’s legal function and Underwriting Agencies.
