Statutory Liability Insurance

Any business can benefit from Statutory Liability insurance. If you, your employees or products accidentally breach one of New Zealand’s laws, you could be held liable. 

Statutory Liability insurance can cover prosecutions under many laws, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Privacy Act 2020 and Health and Safety at Work Act 2015*. 

It can cover: 

• Costs to defend claims from a regulatory body
• Insurable fines, penalties or reparation costs imposed by the Courts due to the incident* 

*The policy excludes cover for any fines charged in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, Employment Relations Act 2000 and any associated legislation or regulations or other laws where indemnification is prohibited by that legislation.
