Changes to the Fire and Emergency levy rate
There has been an increase to the Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) levy rate from 1 July 2024.
Who is impacted by the FENZ levy rate change?
On behalf of Fire and Emergency New Zealand, insurers collect levies on certain insurance policies including (but not limited to):
- Home
- Personal contents
- Motor vehicle (personal and commercial)
- Business assets and commercial buildings
- Contract works
This levy is added onto the insurance premium and is included in the total package charge.
What are the new FENZ levy rates?
When your policy renews after 1 July 2024, the new FENZ levy rates will apply.
*GST is payable in addition to any amount of levy.
