Roger Abel
Managing Director
Roger began his financial services career in 1987 and over the last 30 years with Rothbury has overseen many company mergers and acquisitions. Under his leadership, Rothbury has grown into the third largest Insurance Broker in New Zealand with over 53,000 clients serviced over the past year. He is focused on providing exceptional client service, expert insurance advice and tailored solutions to both businesses and individuals across the country.

Shane Ohlin
Chief Information Officer
Shane is a highly experienced information technology leader and joined Rothbury in August 2024. He has over 25 years’ experience in information technology, having held various senior management and consulting roles across New Zealand and Australia for companies including AIA Group, Spark New Zealand and One New Zealand. He is passionate about delivering IT services and leveraging digital technologies to enhance and innovate the client experience and to help drive the business forward in this digital era.

Sandy MacCallum
Chief Financial Officer
Sandy has been in the insurance industry for over 18 years and joined Rothbury as a member of the Executive Leadership Team in 2008.
Sandy is responsible for financial reporting, banking relationships and providing advice on long term business and financial planning for our business. He also manages shareholder relationships and communications, and is a member of the Mergers and Acquisition team.
His role encompasses the leadership of Rothbury Instalment Services and its finance operations.
Sandy is a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) and a Director of IQumulate Premium Funding.

Rachel McKay
Executive General Manager – People and Culture
Rachel joined Rothbury in August 2022. An executive leader, with over 15 years' experience in HR, Rachel is passionate about building capability, driving change agendas and enabling constructive cultures to deliver business outcomes.
Rachel has worked across different industries to deliver the people strategy, including having worked at Tower, Lumley and Asteron Life.

Paul Munton
Executive General Manager - Broking Branches
Paul has been in the insurance industry for over 42 years and has held senior leadership roles in Insurance, Reinsurance, and Insurance Broking. He joined Rothbury as a member of the Executive Leadership Team in 2015.
Paul is responsible for managing our Broking branches and his extensive knowledge and experience means he is adept at driving sales culture and developing strategies to support Rothbury’s business growth.
Paul is a Fellow of ANZIIF, a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, and an Associate Member of IBANZ.

Treena Rowley
Executive General Manager – Broking Services and Business Operations
Treena joined Rothbury in January 2022. Treena is widely known as a highly respected professional within the insurance industry, and brings a significant amount of expertise to the Rothbury Executive Team.
Treena has 19 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held various senior commercial broking and insurance management roles across New Zealand for companies including Lumley Insurance, IAG and Crombie Lockwood.
Treena is responsible for developing and supporting insurer relationships, building strategy to grow Rothbury’s business and she acts as a conduit for both the business needs and for operational delivery.

David Walton
Executive General Manager - Agencies and Chief Counsel
David brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and a significant amount of expertise to the Rothbury Executive Team.
Having joined Rothbury in 2014, David’s role within the business has seen him enjoy both legal and commercial responsibilities across his tenure. David is responsible for leading Rothbury’s employee benefits, legal, risk & compliance functions and the management and growth of our Underwriting Agencies.
David is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and is a board member of the Underwriting Agencies Council of New Zealand.
