Bruce Davidson
Chairman and Independent Director
Bruce was previously a Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public and was the Managing Partner of Phillips Fox, now DLA Piper where he remained a Consultant until July last year. He has been a Professional Independent Director for over 30 years and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors of NZ. He was appointed as Non-Executive Director in 2013 and was appointed as Non-Executive Chair in 2014.
Roger Abel
Managing Director
Roger entered the financial services world with AMP in 1987 and has led Rothbury Insurance Brokers as Managing Director since 1992. Under Roger’s leadership, Rothbury has grown into the third largest Insurance Broker in New Zealand and is focused on providing exceptional client service, expert insurance advice and tailored solutions to both businesses and individuals across the country. He currently sits on the IBANZ Board and was appointed as Director in 2005.
Robert Kelly
Director
Robert co-founded Steadfast and has over 52 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker, a Fellow of NIBA, a Senior Associate of ANZIIF, a Certified Insurance Professional and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed Johns Lyng Group Limited and the Australian not-for-profit organisation KidsXpress. Robert received the prestigious award of Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Queen’s Birthday 2022 Honours List.
Owen Shaw
Director
Owen was a founding shareholder and director of Commercial and General Insurance Brokers (1990) which merged with Rothbury Insurance Brokers in 2004. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. He was appointed as Non-Executive Director in 2005.
Michael Ahie (Taranaki, Ngāruahine, Ngāti Ruanui)
Independent Director
Michael is dedicated to the cultural and commercial success of New Zealand organisations. Michael is an experienced company director and chair across a range of sectors. He is currently a Director of Zespri International Limited and Zespri Group Limited, Chair of Spring Sheep Milk Co., Chair of the New Zealand Plant Market Access Council and is a member of the Institute of Directors Nominations Committee. He was appointed as an Independent Director in July 2024.
